Alpine Lodge
Alpine Lodge maintains its history as a “lodge nestled in the pines of the Colorado Rockies.” It began in the early 1920s as a dude ranch for men and women. In 1946, it became a lodge/eating place before burning to the ground in 1954. It was rebuilt in 1956. In 1965, it opened as a public restaurant with lodging in Alvarado Campground (adjacent to the current property), adding living quarters and cabins from 1972 through 1978. It has gone through extensive remodeling and building additions since then, becoming the majestic Alpine Lodge set at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains with stunning views of the Wet Mountain Valley.
Richard (current owner for 17 years), along with family, friends, and staff, has hosted or catered over 400 weddings, receptions, anniversaries, Christmas gatherings/parties, and birthday parties, large and small, and continues to receive rave reviews from customers about the lodge and events. It is also the place to go for evening dinners and Sunday brunch. In addition, it has some of the best hiking trails in the region within a half mile.
