Sangres Art Guild presents the 14th Annual Alla Prima Westcliffe Plein Air Paint-Out
Embrace the Wet Mountain Valley and our National Art Gala Event for 2023!
Alla Prima Westcliffe is a nine-day event beginning with an optional two-day plein air workshop on June 2 and 3 with nationally renowned artist and author, Tim Deibler from La Veta, Colorado. Artists will begin the Alla Prima Westcliffe competition on June 3 taking to the hills and valleys for the perfect vista to plein air paint.
A mid-week Cocktail Party to meet and greet participating artists is being hosted by our very own Kirkpatrick Bank on Wednesday, June 7 from 5:30-7 pm. This show will feature ‘Dry Art’ from our APW artists and will be for sale. This art will remain at Kirkpatrick Bank until June 23, you’re welcome to view or purchase the art during bank hours of 9 am-5 pm.
You’re invited to attend our Alla Prima Westcliffe Show & Gala Reception opening at Lange Hall on Friday, June 9 at 11 am with a Gala Reception from 3-6 pm. This show promises to have a vast offering of one-of-a-kind original artwork and you will have an opportunity to own one or more special pieces!
While the Alla Prima Westcliffe Show continues on Saturday, June 10 from 11 am-5 pm at Lange Hall, many artists will participate in a Quick Draw event during a three-hour competition to finish a piece of art. Watch the artists who can be anywhere on the sidewalks of Main Street from The Bluff to 7th Street as you meander and visit our local businesses. Come to Lange Hall after 12:30 to cast your vote on your favorite Quick Draw artwork. The winner will be announced at 3:30 at Lange Hall.
On Sunday the Alla Prima Westcliffe artists will take their unsold artwork home or transfer their art to continue the Alla Prima Westcliffe Show at 3rd Street Gallery from Thursday through Monday between 11 am – 4 pm until June 24 to view and purchase any of our remaining plein air artworks.
