Who’s Hungry for Breakfast?

December 3 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join Denver cookbook author Nicole Hampton for a zoom event on Friday, December 3rd at 5:30 p.m. She will discuss her newest cookbook “High-Altitude Breakfast: Sweet & Savory Baking at 5,000 Feet and Above.” Nicole says “the first thing that drew me to writing a book on breakfast is that I just love eating breakfast food!” There are two ways to attend the event on December 3rd: zoom from your location or register to attend an in-person zoom event in the Library’s Community Room. Please contact Cathy at 719-783-9138 or email to register.
This new cookbook is a high-altitude cooking and baking guide for all things breakfast, both savory and sweet. Here’s the science: at high altitudes, the atmospheric pressure is lower, causing liquids to evaporate quickly and leavening agents to expand faster. High-altitude bakers can experience longer cooking times, overflowing batters, super-dense breads, and a number of other kitchen disasters. But no fear, Nicole Hampton is here to help! The author’s message is: “Happy baking, and happy breakfast!”
Nicole Hampton is the author of “Sugar High” and the writer behind the popular Blog, where she shares sweet and savory high-altitude- friendly recipes. Nicole has been featured in 5280 Magazine, The Washington Post, Colorado Life, and Colorado Country Life. Nicole lives in Denver, Colorado, at 5,000 feet above sea level. When she’s not baking, you can find her working in digital marketing, reading, listening to podcasts, and eating breakfast for every single meal.
