Alla Prima Westcliffe is excited to welcome artists and collectors for our 17th year!
September 12 workshop; September 13-19 Plein Air Paint Out
From glowing aspens, snow capped mountains to wildflowers, anything is possible in September. Inspired by nature, participating artists create spectacular original plein air paintings during this special outdoor event.
Join us in beautiful Westcliffe, Colorado to partake in this long-standing tradition. Plein air artists from all over the country are eagerly anticipating a visit to Custer County to capture our natural beauty and historic ranches. Plein Air describes an artist who paints directly on canvas in an outdoor setting rather than a studio. Optional exclusive painting sites will be offered to our artists along with a vast array of natural vistas to discover. COST: $60 by Aug. 31, $75 after.
Alla Prima Westcliffe begins with an optional one-day plein air workshop on Saturday, September 12th with our esteemed workshop artist, Jennifer Riefenberg. Signup on our website, space is limited. Enjoy viewing Jennifer’s diverse art at: artofsunshine.com. COST: $125.
On September 13th artists take to the hills and valleys in search of the perfect vista. Be on the lookout for easels set up throughout the county as artists choose their subjects. Feel free to stop and watch their creations come to life.
QUICK DRAW is Saturday, Sept. 19, 9am-noon, included for APW participants. The public is encouraged to come and watch and vote for their People’s Choice, which will be announced at the GALA reception at Lange Hall, later in the day.
