Willow Wind Farm is a ranch located in the Wet Mountain Valley. We specialize in breeding fine fiber animals and fine fiber end products. We have over 150 critters on the ranch; approx. 125 alpacas, 20 colored merino sheep, 3 dairy goats, 5 llamas, chickens and 5 cats and a dog. We strive to produce the majority of our food and grow in an all season greenhouse while utilizing garden space outside for summer growing. It is not uncommon for us to have 40+ youngsters running around of any and all species.

We shear all the fiber animals the end of May. We sort and grade 1000’s of pounds of fiber in June and July. We process another 300 pounds of select fiber in the cottage industry making yarn and other fine products. Part of our process is strictly home grown while part of our process involves fiber from the ranch as well as fiber that is collected from ranches in the western US. The larger scale production happens all within the US milling process and we are proud to represent growth and processing that is 100% USA.

We love visitors and are open to tours by reservation only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2pm. Please make your reservation 24 hours in advance.
Farm tour prices are $15/ person (ages 12 and under are free!) or you can apply that $15 to a purchase of $100 or more in our store located on the farm filled with our quality, home grown, fiber products.
We are so happy to have our community visiting the farm, and truly appreciate all the love and support. However, we cannot accept walk-ins or unannounced visits, and appreciate attention to this as well.
Please email Annie at annie@willowwindfarm.net or message us on our Willow Wind Farm Facebook page to schedule your farm tour visit!

A Painted View Ranch is nestled in one of the state’s most beautiful and unspoiled areas, the Wet Mountain Valley at the base of the Sangre de Cristo mountains of Custer County. The ranch is committed to perpetuating the western and ranching lifestyle through equestrian events, music and community service. We hold dear the values and work ethic a life living close to the land provides.

The owner has a keen interest in Western Native American cultures and a passion for horses. Her passion for Native American Horses led her to her association with the Nokota® Horse Conservancy, a nonprofit preserving a rare American horse breed which is being used for all types of disciplines. The ranch has fifteen Nokotas and is a preservation breeder.

Bear Basin Ranch is an 1890’s working ranch nestled in the heart of the Wet Mountains in Southern Colorado and overlooks the Wet Mountain Valley to the west and runs parallel to the Sangre de Cristo range and the Sangre de Cristo National Wilderness Area. Bear Basin Ranch was first utilized as a hunting ground for roaming bands of buffalo hunters, then as a summer home to the Mountain Utes. The Ranch was later settled as part of the Silver Park Prospect in the 1860’s, later becoming a homestead, cattle ranch, and finally, the home of our 60-head Appaloosa and Quarter horses.
